Meritech Engineering is a growing civil engineering firm with a group of dedicated individuals engaged in a broad spectrum of engineering and project management services.

This entry-level position is ideally suited to a civil engineering graduate with the ability to tackle a variety of job responsibilities, a strong work ethic and excellent problem solving skills. The successful applicant will be able to work independently and within a group environment. The design team structure at Meritech allows each member to excel in every aspect of a project from concept to construction. This environment is well suited to a recent graduate motivated to learn the many aspects of civil engineering. The training program provided by Meritech is hands-on and very effective.

Time management and organizational skills are highly important assets. The ability to track time and budgets will enable the successful applicant to monitor their own project successes; deadlines are a critical element to each project.

The main responsibilities for this entry level position will be design and drafting of subdivisions, site plans and municipal projects including, sewer design, grading, road design and stormwater management. Experience working with a municipality would be an asset.

The position will require familiarization with current municipal and Ontario Provincial Standards and Specifications. AutoCAD LDT or Civil 3D and stormwater modelling software knowledge are assets. Some training will be provided and technical sessions with the design team will encourage professional and technical growth.

This is a full-time salary position with competitive remuneration in line with PEO salary surveys, and includes an excellent benefits package.

Meritech Engineering provides an ideal environment for someone interested in learning about the municipal and land development industries from concept through to construction.

Full time position: (37.5 hr. work week)
Start Date: approximately May 2009

Civil Engineering Degree
AutoCAD proficiency
Strong communication and organizational skills
Survey skills
Construction/Design experience an asset
